Where NOMADS Work

NOMADS assist United Methodist churches, children’s homes, colleges, camps, and work with outreach ministries and disaster recovery projects across the United States.  We have had projects in Alaska and Mexico and in most states from California to Maine.  For projects in Mexico, teams park in the US and cross the border daily to work. 

Some people remember the NOMADS acronym as Nice Older Methodists Avoiding Deep Snow.  Since we travel in RVs, we do follow the sun.  Starting in January we offer projects across the southern states from California to Florida.  As the year progresses and the weather gets warmer, projects gradually are offered farther north.  Most of our hosting agencies have NOMADS return fairly regularly.  But a few agencies have NOMADS for just one or two projects to complete specific tasks. To see where NOMADS have worked recently, please go to the "Home Page" and scroll down to the map of the United States.  Put your cursor on a state and it will tell you how many NOMADS agencies are in that state.  Click on the state and you will see a list of the agencies in that state below the U.S. map.
